March is a wrap! During the month, Jito Labs co-founder and CEO Lucas Bruder released the Market Layer Manifesto, setting the stage for what the rest of the year will look like. Block Assembly Marketplace (BAM) continued to see increased adoption among validators reaching ~28% of total network stake weight. And much more, let's get into it!
• RockawayX & Bitwise Onchain Solutions integrated BAM
• Blockworks launched Jito investor relations portal
• Derive added JitoSOL as collateral
• SonicSVM acquired ForgeX and integrated Jito infra
• JET Europa announced Berlin Pitstop event
• New BAM Builder Series featuring Ergonia

Published on March 10, 2026, Buffalu's "The Market Layer Manifesto" articulated a unifying thesis for Jito's infrastructure direction, framing execution, capital, economic capture, and access as the four interdependent pillars without which markets fail. The piece gives the broader Solana ecosystem a vocabulary for understanding why coordination infrastructure determines whether Solana becomes the definitive venue for price discovery.

“BAM is Solana's Coordination Layer” blog went live on March 5th. Rather than optimizing for maximum extractable value, BAM introduces cryptographically verifiable transaction ordering giving applications, validators, and traders a shared execution contract with deterministic guarantees. It enables developers to deploy custom sequencing plugins, replacing the one-size-fits-all scheduler with application-controlled ordering logic.

The "Prop AMMs: The Challenges Market Makers Face Today on Solana" blog posts went live on March 26th detailing how market makers on Solana can't predict when their trades will actually execute, so they're forced to charge wider spreads to protect themselves.
Jito's BAM (Block Assembly Marketplace) is being built to solve this. The goal being to create a deterministic, transparent layer between apps and validators so market makers have predictable rules of the game again.
Two major validators joined the BAM network during March: Rockaway X, an early Solana backer with $2B AUM across 50+ networks and 15+ ecosystem investments, confirmed on March 12, 2026, followed by Bitwise Onchain Solutions with $15B in assets under management, 40+ products, and 8 years of Solana history.

The inaugural BAM Builder Series episode, hosted by Blockanalia and published in the final week of March 2026, featured Chris from Ergonia walking through the daily operational realities of market makers who move size on Solana. Episode covers current market structure, client diversity, censorship risk, and the spread-widening consequences users absorb when execution is unpredictable.

As of March 20, 2026, Derive integrated JitoSOL as eligible collateral for options trading, allowing holders to hedge SOL exposure, sell volatility, or take directional positions while continuing to earn staking rewards. The integration doubles the capital efficiency of JitoSOL by letting users put idle staked assets to work in derivatives markets without unwinding their staking position. As more protocols treat JitoSOL as productive collateral rather than a passive holding, the token's role as a foundational DeFi primitive on Solana deepens.

On March 24, 2026, the Blockworks team launched a dedicated investor relations portal on Blockworks, increasing transparency for the Jito community. This portal provides a centralized hub for information, data, and updates related to the Jito Network, aiming to foster greater understanding and engagement among token holders. By offering a more structured and accessible resource, the Jito Foundation seeks to empower the community to make informed decisions and participate more effectively in governance processes.

Sonic SVM’s acquisition of ForgeX Tools in late March 2026 brings open-source, battle-tested market making infrastructure to a broader developer audience, now leveraging Jito’s execution layer. By integrating ForgeX CLI with Jito infra, Sonic SVM enables protected, atomic transaction launches at scale.
